Because when you're a propeller head, common sense is never enough, we all just drove out to the airstrip to check the runway for water. About a third of the way down, or two thirds depending on you're point of view, there's a low spot. And wouldn't you know it, there's standing water all the way along the low spot. Oh, and a dead bird. But that's just a bonus, we weren't actually looking for those. Now, there were Citabria's and other light tail draggers popping in and out, but the little Ercoupe really doesn't have the power to weight to comfortably do that. So, we hem'd and haw'd and scuffled and sighed and finally opted for the safe option. I tell you, it nearly killed us to do that though.
The plan now is to fly next weekend. I'll have a test flight report for you then. I promise.
