It's been a while since I awarded a BoVLB. Oh, there have been lots of stupid stuff flying about. But nothing really tripped my trigger so to speak to award the trophy again. This weekend though. Oh, this weekend...
I hereby award the BoVLB travelling trophy to two recipients this time. Our winners this time? Why none other than Sen. Ben Nelson (D, Nebraska) and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D, Louisiana). It seems these two intrepid renegade democrats stood by they're moral and political objections to the "Universal Health Care" bill, or whatever it's called this hour. Well, stood by till the cash till rang up 100,000,000 dollars each. That's one hundred million dollars for you non-math types. Yes sir, each Senator managed to wring a little more blood out of each and every taxpayer in this country. One of the truly epic things about this is they, over one snowed in weekend in DC, managed to screw everyone in this country down to our grandchildren's and great grandchildren's generations. Take that Wilt Chamberlain.
So, for these two members of the "no pork" party, the "transparency" government, signed off on a bill that no one except select members of ONE party has seen.
Here's to you. Enjoy the trophy.

Bear of Very Little Brain Award
It's been a while but I couldn't ignore it any longer. The travelling BoVLB trophy goes to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for this little gem of fear mongering.
Just so you know. The census bureau in it's last moments of non-partisanship puts the US population at 305,831,116 as of this date. That means there's going to be chillun's born into joblessness. How can that be? Something must be done and now! What? Nobody has a job when they're born? They're infants? That can't be right.
Granted I'd give the entire politician class of 2009 the trophy for thedebt stumulus stumble us pork stimulus bill, or maybe the current messiah, but in the first case I'd hate to see them fight over it and in the second case I'm supremely confident that he's gonna have bigger idiocies coming.

BoVLB awards.
This election's BoVLB (Bear of Very Little Brain) award goes to the New Black Panthers Party of Philly and other urban centers for the ABSOLUTELY brilliant idea to go down to the polls and try to intimidate voters.
First off, did they really think that the Media was so in the Eared Ones pocket that they could ignore it? And come on, the zombie vote in Philly is so solidly in for the Socialistbringer, why would any intimidation be needed.
Come on people, think for a sec.

BoVLB Awardee
I'm awarding the travelling BoVLB trophy to this man.
It seems that being drunk and lawn mowing wasn't enough. When it wouldn't start he just had to get out a gun and shoot it. But, not to settle for just that, he had to bring out the shotgun. You know, the one that had the really short barrel. That one. Oh, and did I mention that he forgot to get that pesky SBW stamp for it?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Keith Walendowski. Let's all give him a hand.

The first BoVLB award.
I'm going to make it official. I'm going to monthly, or maybe whenever I want, award the BoVLB trophy to that most deserving person who can deftly open mouth and insert foot.
The BoVLB award is based upon this quote courtesy of Breda:
Unlike Winnie who recognizes that he's a BoVLB, and that makes him a very smart bear indeed. This award will go to that person or organization who "doesn't get it". That person or organization who, in the face of overwhelming data and facts, can still prove to the world at large that contrary to Darwin, stupidity seems to be a survival trait. Because it just keeps popping up where you'd least want it to.
This month, to kick it off, the award goes to John Wiley Price for this little todo. Apparently the Honorable(?) Price lacks even a basic understanding of science today. I'm fairly sure any 5th grader knows, if not the theory, at least what a black hole is. Also, so as not to be thought of as an idiot, Mr. Price decided to open his mouth and remove all doubt. He accused his fellow council member of racism and posited on white holes. The fact that, with regards to light, black is all wavelengths absorbed and none reflected and white is all wavelengths reflected, none absorbed. And in astronomy a black hole being the ultimate in celestial vacuum cleaners. Both of which apparently accurately describing the ability of the central collections office's ability to take things in never to be seen again.
So, to you Mr. Price, I award the first BoVLB travelling trophy. Don't worry, you wont get to keep it. Someone else will do something soon to merit the award, I'm sure. And don't worry, the average person's attention span in this country would make a Mayfly seem positively geriatric anyway. So, nobody will remember.
There are people and organizations that deserve a permanent BoVLB award, The Brady Foundation, Dennis Hennigan, etc. I'll award those as I get the nominations in.
For you, both of you, my readers. Feel free to nominate anyone you see fit. I'm creating a permanent bubble on my page for the awardee's.
