Tyranny Alert

Via Tam:

http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.ca/2013/07/cradle-and-grave-of-liberty-part-deux.html

This is what a police states looks like folks.  On the day when we in this country are supposed to be celebrating our freedom FROM tyranny we have those who would subjugate us doing their best to do just that.

We need to mobilize the gun owning public and make this go viral.  We may be beyond the point where shining the light of day upon this kind of action will kill it, but we are never beyond the point of fighting against this.

Piston AR Build Update.

Just some minor things to finally finish up the AR I previously posted about.

I added an ambidextrous safety to it. Just a no name brand.  But it fits well and operates like it should.

I installed the aluminum striker plate for the UBR stock, making that much heavier.  Like it wasn't already.  And why the striker plate.  Why not.  Again, this build was about "because I can" not for any real reasons.

I also finally got the front sling mount.. mounted.  And with the MS3 sling. I finally have a reliable way to go from single point sling to two point.

A few notes on its performance so far.  I've put a couple of thousand rounds through it, mostly brass but some lacquer coated steel stuff.  Haven't cleaned it yet. It's still functioning flawlessly.  The Trijicon ACOG has held its zero from the day I zeroed it in.  All in all, I'm really impressed with this rifle.  I think I'll keep it.

New Additions.

So, today. I ran up to my local gun shop to drop off the last of the brass I had ready and put a bit more cash down on the rifle I put on layaway oh so long ago. Anyway, while I was there one of the guys there makes me an offer on the brass I have for sale. Long story short, he bought all I had which immediately went to the rifle.

I brought her home today! Squee!

Springfield M1 Garand. Feb 1943 manufacture according to the serial number. Rebarreled with a Danish barrel and brought back in the 50's by the CMP. All matching serial numbers except for the barrel of course. Even the wood has matching numbers to the rest of the rifle. Very nice. I likey. Now to stock up on it's feed.

Edit: According to Fulton's Serial number list, it's a Dec. '42 manufacture.

Today was a good day.

I took my favorite rifle, the M14, to the range today and reached out 100 and 200 meters to ping steal. It was nice.

I still need to decide on a scope and mount though.

Gun Show Recap.

Spent the weekend at the Grand National. Things seem to have calmed down from the post election panic. But that could be just the fact that it wasn't Wannenmacher's. We'll see.

Ammo prices are coming back down and I was finding .380ACP on the tables again. I picked up 50 rounds of tracer for my M14 at a pretty good price.

Sold all the .45ACP brass that I had collected. Well, all the brass aside from what I plan on reloading. All in all, I came out ahead this time around. Even after the mandatory beef jerky and salsa. So, WIN!

I had fun. How was your weekend?

Best email I've written all month!

Just now I sent an email to flag-at-white house -dot- gov. Here is the text:

Hi,

I would like to flag myself, {aepilotjim} as opposed to the Obama Adminstration's Health Insurance Reform Bill.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely
{aepilotjim}

Real name redacted for this blog.

I see this kind of tactic by the current administration as a blatant attempt to try to silence the American public by intimidation. This sort of strong arm Chicago politics will not now, nor ever, sit quietly with me. I call out to all of you to flag yourself.

New Job...

I think I've figured it out. Tell me if I'm close. ahem....

My fellow Americans.

I don't want to run (insert industry here)

I inherited (insert mess here) from the previous administration.

It's not about me. It's about (insert current legacy media darlings here)

And to DO SOMETHING about it I plan to (insert socialist agenda here)

Because:

Emotionally based reason

Emotionally based reason

...

Emotionally based reason

Then ramble for a bit without really explaining anything or understanding anything.

I wonder if I can get a job working for the teleprompter?
